How Printed and Shipped Wedding Invitations Work with a Done-For-You Studio

Digital files or printed and shipped? Here's how ThornBloom's done-for-you studio handles both, from choosing your suite to requesting a printing quote for delivery across the United States and Canada.

How Printed and Shipped Wedding Invitations Work with a Done-For-You Studio

Every couple who finds ThornBloom lands on the same question sooner or later. Do you want digital files, or do you want your suite printed and shipped to your door? The honest answer is that you don’t have to choose just one, and the studio can help either way.

If you are weighing printed and shipped wedding invitations against print-ready files, here is exactly how both paths work, what “printed and shipped” actually includes, and how to request a quote.

It helps to think of this as a delivery decision rather than a design decision. The suite itself, the artwork, the wording, the pieces you’ve chosen, stays exactly the same either way. What changes is what lands in your hands at the end: a folder of print-ready files, or a box of finished, printed pieces. Neither path changes how personalized the suite is or how it’s proofed.

Two Ways to Receive Your Suite

ThornBloom is a done-for-you studio. You choose a suite, send us your details, and we set every piece for you. From there, you have two ways to receive your finished stationery.

Both formats carry the same artwork and wording.

Digital Files, Ready to Print

This is the default path for every suite. Once your details are typeset and proofed, you receive print-ready files, formatted at full resolution with bleed marks built in. From there, you can arrange printing through the studio’s printing partners (more on that below).

Printed and Shipped, Arranged by the Studio

If you would rather skip the printing step entirely, most of the ThornBloom lineup is also available printed and shipped, arranged through the studio’s printing partners. You send us the details of what you need, we get you a quote, and your printed pieces are shipped once the order is placed. This path is by quote only. The studio does not print in-house, and it isn’t a print shop. It arranges printing on your behalf and manages the order for you.

What “Printed and Shipped” Actually Means

Printed and shipped is not a separate product line. It is a fulfillment option layered on top of the same personalized suites you already see across the collections. Your invitation suite, your day-of pieces, your save the dates, whatever you choose, still gets typeset by the studio and proofed the same way. The only difference is what happens after the files are finished. Instead of downloading them, you request that we send them to the printing partners on your behalf.

Which Pieces Are Eligible

Most pieces across the collections can be arranged printed and shipped. Save the dates, invitation suites, day-of details, and guest list and seating pieces are all eligible, across Enchanted Forest, Dark Romance, and Midnight Celestial alike. Because paper stock, sizing, and print specifications vary by piece and by collection, the studio confirms exactly what is included and what it will cost when you request your quote, rather than publishing a single blanket price that wouldn’t hold across every piece in the lineup.

One piece is the exception to the quote-only rule: the Enchanted Forest seating chart print add-on is listed with a set price already, since it’s a standardized print product with a fixed size and format (see the seating chart page for details). Everything else in the lineup, from invitation suites to save the dates and signage, is arranged individually through a quote, since quantities and pieces vary so much from one wedding to the next.

The wedding website is the one product where this question doesn’t apply. It’s a hosted, digital-only experience your guests visit from their phones or computers, and there is no physical version of it to print or ship.

Where It Ships (United States and Canada)

Printed and shipped orders ship within the United States and Canada. If your wedding or your mailing address falls outside those two countries, digital files remain the way to go. One note on the wedding website specifically: it is a digital product only. It is never printed, and there is no printed version to ship.

How to Request a Quote

Requesting a printed and shipped quote starts with a single email. There is no separate checkout flow to navigate and nothing to configure yourself. You tell us what you need, and the studio takes it from there.

What to Include in Your Email

Email info@thornbloomstudio.com with:

  • Your collection and suite, or the individual pieces you’re considering
  • Rough quantities (even an estimate is enough to start)
  • Your wedding date
  • Your shipping destination

The more of this you can include up front, the more accurate the studio’s quote will be.

What Happens After You Send It

The studio reviews your details and replies with a quote for your printed and shipped order. From there, you can confirm and move forward, adjust quantities or pieces, or decide digital files make more sense for your timeline. There’s no pressure to commit before you’ve seen the numbers, and switching between digital and printed and shipped at this stage is easy since your suite hasn’t been finalized yet.

The Proofing Process, Either Way You Choose

Whether your suite ends up as digital files or a printed and shipped order, the proofing process is the same. Once you send your details for a stage, whether that’s your save the dates, your invitation suite, your day-of details, or your guest list and seating pieces, the studio typesets everything and sends you a proof. You’ll have a proof within two business days of sending that stage’s details (three business days for guest-list pieces, since names and seating take a little more care). You get two revisions included per piece, and there is no expiry on submitting your details. Choosing printed and shipped does not change any part of this. Caelin still proofs every piece before anything moves forward, printed or digital.

Choosing Digital, Printed and Shipped, or Both

Some couples want everything printed and shipped so there is nothing left for them to manage. Others prefer digital files so they can print exactly what they need, when they need it, whether that’s a small run of save the dates now and a larger invitation order later. And some couples split the difference: digital files for pieces they want to print immediately, and a printed and shipped order for pieces they’d rather have arrive ready to use. All three approaches work with the same done-for-you process, and you’re not locked into one path for your entire suite.

There isn’t a wrong answer here, and it’s worth thinking through what actually matters for your wedding. If you want your pieces on screen only, digital files are all you need. If you would rather have one less vendor to manage and one less box to track down before the wedding, a printed and shipped order takes that off your plate. Either way, the studio’s part of the process, personalizing your suite and proofing every piece, stays exactly the same.

Because the decision doesn’t have to happen all at once, you can change your mind partway through. A couple who starts with digital files for their save the dates can still request a printed and shipped quote for their invitation suite later, once quantities are closer to final.

If you haven’t chosen a collection yet, browse Enchanted Forest, Dark Romance, or Midnight Celestial to see which suite fits your wedding, then decide how you’d like it delivered once you’re ready to send your details. Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to choose printed or digital, or can I have both?

You can have both. Many couples choose digital files for some pieces and a printed and shipped order for others. Nothing requires you to pick one path for your whole suite.

How long does printed and shipped take?

Printing and shipping timelines depend on the printing partner handling your order and are included in the quote the studio sends you. What stays consistent on our end is the proofing timeline: a proof within two business days of sending your details for each stage, three business days for guest-list pieces.

Does ThornBloom print in-house?

No. ThornBloom is a done-for-you design studio, not a print shop. Printed and shipped orders are arranged through the studio’s printing partners on your behalf.

Are save the dates available printed and shipped?

Yes, like any other piece in the lineup. Save the dates are arranged printed and shipped by quote, the same way invitation suites and day-of pieces are. Email info@thornbloomstudio.com with your collection, rough quantities, wedding date, and destination, and the studio will send you a quote.

Does printed and shipped ship outside the United States and Canada?

No. Printed and shipped orders currently ship within the United States and Canada only. If your destination falls outside those countries, digital files are the way to go.

Ready to see what a printed and shipped quote looks like for your wedding? Email info@thornbloomstudio.com with your collection, suite or pieces, rough quantities, wedding date, and destination, and the studio will get back to you with a quote. Or start by browsing the collections at the ThornBloom FAQ and the realm pages above to choose your suite first.
